The ex-lawyer for the former president has stepped down as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This follows a legal ruling that challenged her right to hold the office.
Attorney General's Statement
The head of the Justice Department, Pam Bondi, announced her stepping down on the start of the week. In a statement that the appeals court finding made it impossible for her to effectively run her office.
"But do not mistake compliance for surrender," she declared. "My fight will now reach across the country."

Her resignation comes a week after a US appeals court found that she had been serving in violation of the law as the top prosecutor. This decision is could influence numerous criminal cases in the Garden State.
